Product safety — 22 more California Proposition 65 notices issued
Twenty-two new Proposition 65 (Prop 65) "60-day" notices were issued in the last three weeks alleging that brands and retailers sold travel goods (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4), purses (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4), cosmetic and toiletries cases (Notice 1), footwear (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4; Notice 5), jewelry (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4), and belts (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4) in California that contained phthalates, lead, and cadmium in violation of Prop 65. The 22
new notices brings this year's total to 281 cases involving travel goods and other fashion related products. TGA has included these notices, along with every other travel goods and fashion-related notice for the past three years, in the TGA Prop 65 "60 Day Notice" running list. TGA will continue to update this list on a regular basis to help catalog the effects of this law on the travel goods
industry. For more information on Prop 65, please go to the Prop 65 page on the TGA website or contact TGA's Nate Herman at 703-797-9062.
