Briggs & Riley Receives
2007 Community Service Award
From The Travel Goods Association

Las Vegas, NV – Briggs & Riley, a leader in high-quality travelware based in Hauppauge, New York, was awarded the 2007 Community Service Award from the Travel Goods Association (TGA), the industry trade group representing manufacturers and buyers of travel industry products.  The Award was presented at TGA’s annual Travel Goods Show, held recently in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The TGA Community Service Award for outstanding community service is awarded in memory of TGA Past President Anne L. DeCicco, who encouraged industry members to engage in meaningful community service activities.  Briggs & Riley has raised over $100,000 since 2001 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) through it’s participation in their “Walk for the Cure” marathon event.  In 2006, Briggs & Riley was the number one contributor to JDRF in Suffolk County.

According to TGA Awards Committee Chairman Peter Cobb, Briggs & Riley was chosen to be honored because the company has garnered the support of so many of their employees, and the fact that they have made the commitment to continue raising money for JDRF each year.

“Briggs & Riley is honored to receive the 2007 TGA Community Service Award,” stated Richard Krulik, CEO of Briggs & Riley.  “We are committed to giving back to the communities we serve by supporting worthy causes and events that help improve society and those in need.”  The company plans to continue their commitment to JDRF in the future.

The Travel Goods Association (TGA) is the national organization that represents the travel goods industry.  Its members include the manufacturers, distributors, retailers, promoters, sales representatives and suppliers of luggage and other products for people who travel.

TGA is also the sponsor of The Travel Goods Show, the largest annual exhibition of finished travel and leather goods in the world, where approximately 40,000 products from over 250 leading companies are on display for 5,000+ attendees every year.
