Mind-Blowing Accessories
Companions for Travel, Work and Play

Princeton, New Jersey — “Mind-Blowing Accessories: Companions for Travel, Work and Play,” is the focus of this summer’s edition of Travel Goods Showcase magazine. “There has been a real growth in the use of travel accessories in our everyday lives,” explains Michele Marini Pittenger, president of the Travel Goods Association. “We have become an increasingly ‘portable’ society, with laptops, cell phones, iPods, MP3 players and PDAs, and we need accessories to hold these items. We have a whole new generation that grew up using backpacks every day, and they expect to take their everyday life with them no matter where they go!”

The travel goods industry has been reacting to consumer needs for safety, convenience and portability, and the July/August issue of Travel Goods Showcase highlights some of the latest in travel accessories for men and women of all ages.

Other featured articles in this issue:

  • “Building Sales with Impulse Shopping” outlines for retailers various ways to increase sales by using travel accessories in such a way that they become an “impulse” item.
  • “Getting the Most from Your Design Team” has valuable suggestions for manufacturers from an independent designer, who provides both design and development services to the luggage and travel goods industries.
  • “Moving the Trade Agenda Forward” reviews the recent announcement on labor and environmental provisions necessary for approval of free trade agreements.
