i-TRAK

After a decade working in the airline industry»s lost luggage area, Adam Dalby saw a need for a way to efficiently track lost luggage. He spent three years working on a solution that would work as well for the airlines as it would for the traveler, and launched i-TRAK for luggage in January 2003. i-TRAK micro labels for passports, laptops and other items that commonly end up in the lost and found followed shortly after.
i-TRAK is an identity tag that allows tracking via the airline industry»s own telex communication system. By using i-TRAK, owners enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a 24-hour finder’s hotline and web and email links to help reunite them with their i-TRAK-equipped items should they become lost. “i-TRAK not only enhances the chances of lost items finding their owners quickly, it also offers additional security,” says Dalby. “Personal details are securely held on i-TRAK’s system, avoiding the need to ever display information such as home addresses and telephone numbers on the outside of luggage.”
i-TRAK is also developing technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in order to further streamline the whole travel experience, from remote check-in right through to increased security and a reduction in lost luggage.
